About

Meet Dani Bahnsen

I have always been a runner. Track was my favorite sport in high school.

After high school, I served in the U.S. Marine Corps followed by the Air Force Reserve while attaining my college degree. I then entered Corporate America, where running was my therapy from a stressful job.

Even though I have always been active, I have dealt with several health issues including asthma, high blood pressure, pre-diabetes, depression and arthritis. In 2008, during a routine check-up, my doctor told me that my blood pressure was so high, I could possibly have a stroke. That scared me. It didn’t matter that I was going to the gym a few times a week. I wasn’t healthy and something had to be done.

I decided to take running and biking to the next level and began training for triathlons. This meant that I had to learn to swim…yes, learn to swim, and to overcome my almost debilitating fear of the ocean and sharks. I completed my first triathlon at Camp Pendleton six months after learning to swim in 2009. Since that first triathlon, I have competed in numerous triathlons, 5k and 10k races, half and even full marathons.

Running and fitness continued to thread through my life eventually leading me to get my National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) certification in 2010 when I began working as a personal trainer and nutrition counselor. In 2015, I opened StudioSol as a safe place for individuals of all ages to comfortably gather and get their health on track. Whether it’s strength and conditioning training, cardio workouts, toning, nutritional counseling, or a desire to take up or improve your running with a running coach, StudioSol is here for you.

As a lifelong health advocate, I also host SolRetreats, a rejuvenating wellness weekend for the mind, body and spirit. These weekend retreats bring together women with health and wellness experts who provide education and hands-on activities on topics including healthy cooking, stress relief, yoga, exercise and more. SolRetreats are also perfect for small businesses looking to provide their employees with a corporate wellness program. Seeing clients arrive stressed and rarely doing anything for themselves and departing refreshed and invigorated is truly inspiring.

Also, because so much of our time is spent where we work, I am a firm believer in and advocate for corporate wellness programs, at the workplace. Too many people sit for far too long at their desks. Our bodies were built to move. Even small and mid-size businesses can provide cost-effective wellness programs for their employees and I can show them how.

My Vision

My vision is to make a difference in your life by providing motivation, support, and results oriented training on your path to good health and fitness.

Being physically fit and emotionally strong not only increases your energy level and brain function, it also gives you a sense of peace and confidence that will help carry you though your entire life, making you a better parent, spouse, colleague and friend.

Mental confidence and physical success are a natural result of surrounding yourself with supportive people in a non-intimidating environment. An actionable and attainable wellness program should include exercise paired with nutrition, stress reduction techniques and proper rest and relaxation. Most importantly, it should be tailored to your specific needs and fitness goals.

I know that life is busy. Making time for you, especially to exercise, is not an easy commitment to make. I have learned that with the right support and motivational belief in yourself we all are able to overcome and accomplish great things – personally and professionally.

Taking care of YOU is one of the greatest gifts you can give yourself and your family.

Isn’t it time you invested in your emotional and physical health?

Dani understands how the anatomy of the body works so she can understand what small muscles may be weak and therefore lead to injuries that I may already have that I am trying to fix or injuries that might be in my future. She is also adaptable. I can ask her to focus on one muscle group area for a workout and she will design a challenging but fun workout for that session!
